Out Reach


BeFORE represents the action phase of Bharata Mata School of Social Work. Initiated in the year 2017, BeFORE coordinates all the extension and outreach activities of the department. With its thrust in ecology, service and student activism; BeFORE has come to be synonymous with the college’s adopted NGO. Through many of its services BeFORE continues to impact tribal, rural and urban populations of Ernakulam. Some of its programmes are described as under:

  • Afforestation – Campus Cultivation

Days & Events

Enabling practice among young social workers, the school of social work strives to promote observance of days of national/International importance. Students are encouraged to organise awareness or participation programs to inculcate public awareness and also to preserve social responsibility of citizens.

Community Progamme and Extension activities

The department actively contributes to the society by applying its theories and models covered in class. These activities prove to be a platform for students to develop their skills and also to churn their professionalism. Some of the community extension programmes are described as under:
